Hi. Is the scooter for a man or woman, 'cos I think "stylish" can mean very different things to the two sexes! Presuming it doesn't have to be a boot scooter , TGA have some very funky machines - but at a price. Take a look at their Supersport, Breeze and new Dolce Vita. Where do you live - where is the nearest stockist?

    Default stylish mobility scooters

    Hi

I won't comment on style but you may find it helpful to see the useful guide from Ricability on Powered wheelchairs and scooters.

    Hope this is helpful,

    Hello,

Thanks for your helpful reply. I am a woman of 48yrs, live in West London. I have MS am mobile, although can't walk far. I recently bought a trike (not electric) and find it difficult on hills. Thanks again

    Hello,

For the area you are describing I would recommend the TGA Supersport, Breeze or Vita models. These models have a good ground clearance and are all terraine scooters so will easy cope with the Hills. The Supersport and Breeze models even have a battery upgrade so can go upto 30 miles on a charge.

    Hello,

Thanks for your advice. Would you be kind enough to further advise; Could I pay for a scooter using my higher level disability/mobility monies recieved and to include battery upgrade? Also in terms of transportation, can any be folded into the boot? If not I presumme the scooters you advised can be attached to a trailer and if so where can I get the trailer?

    Thanks

You can purchase the scoters through your higher rate disability living allowance also long as you do not have a current agreement with them and have more than 12 months left on your allowance. The payments would include the upgraded batteries but all other accessories would have to be purchased separately. In reference to the transportation these scooters are not transport table by car boot. You would need to get a trailer of some sorts to carry the scooter if wanting to take away. There are some companies online that do make trailers for this purpose.

Yes my mum is looking at getting a scooter and is eligible on the disability allowance - will she be tied into a long term contract as we've been looking at buying one outright and the majority of scooter on the market today look sleek - I think scooters have come a long way over the past few years.

Modern scooters are a lot more robust that their predecessors, look sleek and the ranges have increased with the advent of newer battery technology.

Consider a second hand scooter from your local adds Ive seen as new scooters go for a fifth of the new price and some still have manufacturers warranty - look around there are bargains to be had.

She would unfortuantely be tied into a 3yr contract, there is no way around this thought motability. However she would get the scooter serviced each year for free and be completely cover for insurnace and warranty for all 3years.
