Hi,

I hope somebody will be able to offer some suggestions, I am not sure as i have tried looking around a few different companies.

I am looking for a company which does a vertical lift toilet seat, which has a flat square seat, and is at least 17" wide.

I am aware of Total Hygiene but the seat is not quite the right shape for my client's needs. it may be what we have to go with but i would like to try and find alternatives.

Does anyone know of any?

Thanks for your enquiry about toilet seats. I have included here some alternatives to the Total Hygiene product you mentioned you already tried.


The seats aren't all square and most tilt as well as rise (so aren't just a vertical lift), but they may be worth trialling with your client as an alternative. The suppliers listed below would be able to give further information about the lifting options of the items.

Products

Self-lift WC seats and frames

What we include: The items in this section are all designed to assist a user to rise from a seated position on a WC frame. The more sophisticated seats have a combination of seat lift and tilt which provides a better position for standing. The two main types of self-lift seats include: - spring assisted seats which can be adjusted according to the user's weight. Users need enough strength in their arms to lift their body from the seat in order to trigger the mechanism and enough strength in their legs to stabilise their knees when the seat rises up. Some have a locking mechanism that locks the unit in the down position so that it will not be activated if the user changes their position on the seat; - powered lift seats have a powered mechanism that lifts the seat and sometimes the armrests and/or backrest up and forwards. The seats are powered by rechargeable batteries or mains electricity via a step-down transformer situated outside the bathroom or WC. The controls are housed in a handheld console.
